Tis the season to be jolly and country singers including Trisha Yearwood, Chris Young, Rascal Flatts, Brett Young, Chris Janson and Lady Antebellum will bring their Christmas cheer to “CMA Country Christmas,” which will air 8 p.m. Tuesday on ABC.

The Christmas music program, which will be hosted by Yearwood, is in its 10th year and will also include CeCe Winans, for KING & COUNTRY, Kristin Chenoweth, Tori Kelly and Runaway June.

“There’s something really fun about mixing genres with these Christmas events and something really wholesome about doing events based around Christmas,” said Brett Young, who will perform Donny Hathaway’s version of “This Christmas.” “I think that’s something the country music community has always been about. I don’t know that there’s another genre out there that’s quite as family-oriented as country, plus it gives fans an opportunity to tune into a broadcast where they’re getting a little bit of everything.”

Winans, who will perform alongside Yearwood and Rascal Flatts, predicted the evening would be “full and powerful,” adding, “It’s going to be an awesome show.”

“It’s always so special to celebrate this joyous time,” said Flatts’ guitarist Joe Don Rooney. “It does fill you with the spirit of what Christmas is all about.”

Lady Antebellum will mix their current music with Christmas tradition when they blend their “On a Night Like This” with “Silent Night.” The trio will also perform “White Christmas.”

“It’s just so fun, and a lot of these songs lends themselves so much to harmonies, which is what we do and how we started and what we bring as a band,” said Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott. “I think it’s just a good fit.”

Rarely one to play it straight, Janson said he’s “stoked” to put his spin on Chuck Berry’s “Run, Run Rudolph.”

“Music to me has never been about anything but lyrics and melody,” Janson said. “It’s just a classic, and it feels really good. It makes me happy.”
